Where passion becomes a profession

Social work is the fastest-growing profession internationally – and in many countries, statistics point towards its significant further expansion. In the U.S. the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 7% job growth and 67,300 annual openings  between 2023–2033.


B.S.W. Program

The bachelor's of Social Work program offers a generalist practice prospective built on social and economic justice while preparing students for state licensure.

Child Welfare University Partnership Program

The University Partnership Program (UPP) seeks to develop creative child welfare leaders, policy makers, managers and direct service practitioners who are capable
of critical thinking and promoting best practices and highest-quality service to children, families and communities. Learn more about UPP


CSWE Accreditation

The B.S.W. Program and the M.S.W. Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education's (CSWE) Board of Accreditation. Accreditation of a baccalaureate or master's social work program by the CSWE's Board of Accreditation indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of program quality evaluated through a peer review process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the Board of Accreditation as verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Accreditation applies to all program sites and program delivery methods. Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program.

professional licensure information

The Social Work programs satisfy the educational requirements set forth by the State of Ohio to sit for the state licensing examination. Requirements for B.S.W. and M.S.W. licensure eligibility vary from state to state.  Please reference the Professional Licensure Information page for state details.
