PRINTING SOLUTIONS: COMDOC

Under a State of Ohio purchasing group agreement, The University of Toledo has partnered with ComDoc, a division of Xerox Corporation, to assess replacing and manage the printers, fax machines and copiers throughout all UToledo locations.

For the convenience of our campus community, an equipment deployment timeline and training session schedule is available on this website and will be updated throughout this project for your reference.

UToledo’s goal is to improve cost-efficiencies while still providing faculty, staff and students sufficient access to copying, transmission and duplication services.

To keep you informed throughout this process, IT is apprising senior leaders, deans and other key stakeholders, and has created this webpage, including Frequently Asked Questions, to help answer any questions you may have.

For assistance with any other questions related to Information Technology services, contact the IT Help Desk at 419.530.2400 (Main Campus), 419.383.2400 (Health Science Campus) or ithelpdesk@utoledo.edu.  We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

COMDOC XEROX PRINTER FLEET MANAGEMENT

ComDoc equipment deployment

In 2019 the University partnered with ComDoc to assess replacing and managing its fleet of printers, fax machines and copiers. Many other universities that already have taken advantage of ComDoc’s state-wide contract with public institutions in Ohio have been very pleased with their savings and service.

Information Technology assisted ComDoc for several months to complete a needs assessment to identify the locations, print volumes and other information about UToledo’s equipment so ComDoc could create redesigns, which were approved in December.

Based on those recommendations and leadership input, there will be fewer copiers and fax machines to achieve cost savings, yet the new equipment will provide features and qualities that should better meet user needs, such as being able to use any printer no matter where you are on UToledo campuses and replacing outdated equipment that, in many areas of the University, has been very costly to repair and maintain.

To keep you up-to-date on ComDoc’s deployment, Information Technology has posted Frequently Asked Questions and other information on this website.

To learn when ComDoc will replace your equipment, please visit the deployment timeline and training schedule. Given the large scope of this project, deployment schedule dates are tentative and may be slightly altered; ongoing updates will be made to this schedule as needed.

IT will notify leaders several days in advance to confirm the date(s) ComDoc will be working in each UToledo area to give users adequate notification so you may plan your printing needs accordingly.

Additionally, to assist colleges and departments with operating the new ComDoc equipment, training sessions are being offered. Visit the training schedule on this website for a list of training opportunities.

Please review the Frequently Asked Questions on this website and if you still have questions about ComDoc or equipment deployment.
