How long does it take to complete the program?
It takes 27 months to complete the program. The didactic year will begin in August and continue for 15 months. The clinical year will begin in January with students graduating in December.
How many students are admitted each year?
The program is approved to matriculate 40 students each year.
What degree does the UToledo Physician Assistant Program award?
After the completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MSBS) with a concentration in Physician Assistant Studies.
Does the program offer a hybrid option?
The program does not offer a hybrid option. All courses will be in person.
Is it possible to attend the UToledo Physican Assistant Program part-time?
No, all students are required to be full-time students.
Does the program offer advanced placement?
The UToledo PA Program does not provide advanced placement or advanced standing for any students.
Do I need a specific bachelor’s to apply?
The program does not require a specific bachelor’s degree. It is recommended to take the list of prerequisite courses to your undergraduate advisor to see what program includes most of the required prerequisites. This will avoid needing to take additional courses.
I am a military Veteran, does the program or university offer any services for military veterans?
The university has a Military Service Center available to military veterans.
Does the program offer deceleration?
The UToledo PA Program does not offer deceleration. The program does have an intervention and remediation policy.
Can I continue to work while in the program?
It is recommended that students do not work while in the PA Program, but if necessary any student should not work a considerable amount of time while in the PA Program.
