Bio:

Dr. Wishner became a full-time PA Program faculty in 2014. Dr. Wishner has served as Clinic Director of the National Police in her native country, The Republic of Panama, and the physician for the Panamanian Olympic Committee. She has prior experience working on large scale disasters by way of her efforts at Chernobyl in the mid-1980’s. As a result of this position, Dr. Wishner provided much needed care at the scene of Ground Zero in 2001.  Dr. Wishner received her Doctor of General Medicine in 1990 from The First Institute of Medicine, Russia, Ukraine, a Master of Public Health in 2012 from Bowling Green/University of Toledo Consortium. Dr. Wishner has provided an integral part of the development of the Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center, as well as serving as one of the teaching faculty.  Dr. Wishner is actively involved in the Interdisciplinary Professional Education (IPE) initiative, where there are 18 disciplines represented.  Dr. Wishner's research interests are in disaster medicine and public health issues.  Captain Wishner recently retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Reserve Public Health Officer.
