PhotoAcoustic modules

Photoacoustic Imagery

  • When light is shone onto tissue, heat is absorbed and causes expansion
  • By having the tissue submerged in water, the expansion of the tissue causes a disruption of the water in the form of ultrasound waves
  • An ultrasound detector can be used to collect and analyze the sample

All Photoacoustics sessions are led by Dr. Aniruddha Ray.
