photoacoustics
The photoacoustics instrument combines ultrasound and light, allowing the user to see deeper into tissues than is possible with either ultrasound or light alone. This instrument is the first and only instrument based in the Physics and Astronomy department that is part of the SCOPE Program. During a photoacoustics session, students will learn about:
- the spectrum of light
- absorption wavelengths
- thermal expansion
The photoacoustics team consists of Dr. Aniruddha Ray and his lab. Click here to learn more about Dr. Ray's lab and research.
