SMS Messaging Terms & Compliance
- Program Description: The University of Toledo operates this SMS messaging program for institutional, academic, advising, and student support purposes. Messages are sent only to individuals with University of Toledo student accounts who have affirmatively opted in to receive SMS communications. Opt‑in consent is collected through University‑controlled web forms that include a clear and separate SMS consent checkbox. Messages may include scheduling confirmations, appointment reminders, academic or advising communications, campus updates, and other University‑related notifications consistent with applicable law, including FERPA.
- Cancellation Instructions: You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Simply reply “STOP” to the same number that sent you messages. Upon sending “STOP”, we will confirm your unsubscribe status via SMS. Following this confirmation, you will no longer receive SMS messages from the University of Toledo.
