Workload Information and Support Documents

Faculty contributions in teaching, research and service are valued and are how the University of Toledo achieves its mission. The workload assignment process ensures that all three components of this tripartite mission will be considered at all levels of the process, and that assigned workloads will be fair and equitable.
The workload assignment process is proscribed by Article 10.3 of the tenured and tenure-track collective bargaining agreement (CBA), Article 8.4 of the lecturer CBA, Articles 10.3 – 10.7 of the College of Law CBA, and Faculty Rules and Regulations for non-bargaining unit faculty. Individual colleges may also have workload guidelines that provide specific workload guidance and expectations relevant to the academic discipline.
Online workload forms must be submitted for all full-time faculty including:
- Tenured
- Tenure-track
- Instructors
- Lecturers
Workload forms for part-time and visiting faculty do not need to be submitted as their offer letters should specify their teaching workloads. Deans, associate deans and department chairs do not need to submit workload forms regardless of whether they have any in-load teaching assignment.
