Examination Credit
Credit earned through Testing
The University of Toledo recognizes credit earned through the College Board’s College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Credit by Exam (CBE), and DSST. University students should check with their academic advisor prior to taking any of the standardized or credit by examination tests.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
Students can demonstrate knowledge in specific disciplines by earning a passing grade
on the tests offered by the College Board through its College Level Examination Program

about taking the CLEP tests, practice questions and the cost for each of the various
CLEP tests are posted to the CLEP website. The student is responsible to pay the cost of taking the CLEP test.
The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) oversees the statewide policy on CLEP
testing and establishes the minimum passing score for each of the 33 CLEP tests available.
The standard testing catalog list the minimum passing score associated with each of
the CLEP tests. The University’s CLEP testing practices are available on the Registrar’s
website.
