Professional Staff Council
The Professional Staff Council (PSC) is the elected body that represents Professional Staff Association (PSA) to the administration on topics such as compensation, changes in health benefits, assisting with the Outstanding Staff Awards and other various issues.
PSC is made up of 15 PSA members representing all campuses. We are poised and ready to represent you and respond to your questions and concerns as they relate to your work life here at The University of Toledo. We hope that you become active in the PSA and join us in our efforts to advocate for all professional staff employees. Please feel free to contact any of the PSC members directly to learn more.
Call For Nominations
Each year, the Election Committee of the PSC announces the call for nominations. Each eligible member of the PSA may self-nominate or nominate a colleague for an elected position on the PSC. Members on council serve a three-year term and meet about once per month.
Nominees will be contacted by email to confirm willingness to serve a three-year term and asked to provide a brief paragraph on their background and goals if elected. A ballot, listing nominees and their campaign goals, will then be presented to the PSA membership for voting after the nomination window closes.
PSA members vote for the number of elected seats open on Council each year. This year, there will be five open seats. As such, the ballot allows members to vote for their top five candidates in no particular order. The top five overall vote recipients will be offered the seats on Council in July and announced in the fall, when Council resumes and begins work for the next academic year. In years when seats are vacated for Presidential and PSC appointments, nominees not elected by the membership are considered for the appointed seats.
Submit Nominations by Friday, May 30, at 5 p.m.
The PSA of The University of Toledo consists of all classified exempt, classified salaried, and unclassified administrative and professional employees who do not belong to a bargaining unit and do not have faculty rank. A complete PSA member list of approximately 1,200 employees is available here on this website.
