Welcome New Rockets!
We’re delighted you’re joining the Rocket Family! Orientation is your official next step to becoming a new Rocket. During Rocket Transition orientation you’ll get to know your campus support system, meet other new Rockets, and be introduced to the resources to help you succeed at the University of Toledo. All students must complete the orientation requirement to meet with their academic advisor and register for classes.
Students coming to UToledo directly from high school and adult students 21 and younger complete orientation at one of our in person Rocket Launch sessions.
Orientation registration opens February 2, 2026 for Summer 2026 students and March 1, 2026 for Fall 2026 students in your Admitted Student Portal. Registration is required.
Keep an eye out for an email with the link to register for orientation sent to the email address you used to apply to UToledo!
If you want to change your major, please inform the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 419.530.8888 or 800.5TOLEDO before registering for orientation.
You can also register by clicking the "Register for Orientation" button below and sign in using the email address and password you used to apply to UToledo. If you do not have an application account or do not remember your password, choose "Forgot Password" and enter the email address you used to apply and your date of birth.
Program Options and Dates
Adult students 22 or older and transfer students have two options to complete their orientation requirement:
- In person sessions
- On demand online modules
In Person Orientation(Rocket Transition)
Rocket Transition is a one day in person program hosted on main campus on select dates. During Rocket Transition, you’ll meet your campus support system and other new Rockets, be introduced to the resources to help you succeed as a Rocket, and meet with an academic advisor to register for classes.
Dates will be avilable in your New Rocket Portal.
If you select the in person orientation option, be prepared to be on campus for the entire time of your session. When you register, be sure to have contact information for any guests you plan to bring with you.
More information will be sent to students and their registered guests one week before their session.
Online Modules
If you select the online orientation, you will be sent a link to complete your online orientation via modules once you submit your registration. The online orientation modules can be completed at your own pace at any time after you submit your registration. If you stop at the end of a section, the system will save your place and you can resume the orientation modules at any time.
You will know you've completed the modules when you see the message "You've Completed Your Online Orientation" above your name. The online modules take approximately one hour to complete. Your orientation hold will be removed within one business day of completing the modules. At that time, you can contact an academic advisor in your college and register for classes.
Orientation Fee
All new (first time in college) students must pay the orientation fee of $125 and all transfer students must pay the orientation fee of $100. The fee is the same, regardless of which orientation method you register for and must be paid as part of your bill for the semester. The orientation fee covers student staff, the online orientation platform, cost of programs, and cost of welcome and transition events during the semester. For students who choose to attend orientation in person, the fee also covers the cost of lunch for the student.
