Area of research

Dr. Kumari's research work primarily employs synthetic medicinal/organic chemistry, chemical biology, and molecular dynamics techniques to rationally design, optimize biologically active small molecules, lead compounds, and preclinical candidates as in vivo probes for therapeutic intervention of targeted human diseases to discover better drugs compared to existing ones.

Over the years, Dr. Kumari has worked on the development of various novel organic small molecules to identify potent lead compounds and evaluated their in vitro/in vivo efficacy for treatment and/or prevention of multiple central nervous (CNS) diseases such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, brain stroke and several forms of cancer.
