Research and Innovation

The University of Toledo requires all faculty and anyone who has access to research data or contracts to complete Research Security Training. UToledo has contracted with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) to provide online training modules in Research Security. 

Initial Research Security Training

• Researchers must complete ‘Research Security Initial Training’
• This consists of a series of modules ~18 to 35 minutes duration with required Q&A – total ~3 hours

Annual Training

• 'Research Security Training' expires every year. Therefore, annual training is required and must be renewed at least every 12 months
• Researchers must complete ‘Research Security Training (Combined)'
• This course is approximately one hour in duration.

Awards will not be released to Grants Accounting if all researchers have not completed research security training, regardless of sponsor. New proposals will also not be submitted. For questions or assistance, contact Sponsored Programs at RSP.Admin@UToledo.edu.
