Reach your goals with the Rocket Recharge program! University College offers Rocket Recharge for students on continued academic probation who are facing academic suspension. The program is designed specifically to help students achieve and maintain good academic standing. Rocket Recharge is a semester-long program in which students will participate in weekly meetings for an hour and a half designed to help them improve their GPA. While in this program, students will also meet one-on-one with an academic advisor and their success coach. You will have access to other campus resources as well.

Why Should I Participate in Rocket Recharge

  • Students will learn the necessary academic success strategies and tools in order to promote student success. The course focuses on examining, learning, and implementing academic strategies and other skills foundational to collegiate success. Below are some of the topics you will learn about:
    • Academic self-confidence, how to identify barriers to learning, and the critical thinking skills necessary to persist at the collegiate level.
  • All students must maintain good academic standing for two key reasons:
    • To continue to receive financial aid
    • To continue academically
  • What is good academic standing?
    • Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA to stay in Academic good standing
    • The minimum GPA to declare any major at UT is a 2.0 (most programs require a higher GPA)
  • Exploratory studies students are strongly encouraged to declare their major within three semesters in order to stay on track with degree requirements and graduation

How to Participate

  • All students facing their first semester suspension have one of two options:
    • Participate in Rocket Recharge
    • Serve a one semester suspension
  • Opt-in to the program once you receive your email by calling your advisor and registering for the course. Emails will be delivered after semester grades have been posted
  • Attend each course every week of the semester

Rocket Recharge Sessions

Rocket Recharge meets in person, weekly, during the fall or spring semester.
