The American Language Institute

Welcome to the website of the American Language Institute (A.L.I.), the Intensive English Program at The University of Toledo. Founded in 1977, the A.L.I. offers exceptional English language classes to students from all over the world as well as local residents and businesses.

The institute is located on the beautiful campus of the University of Toledo, close to great dining facilities, the award winning Recreation Center with its own pool, and affordable, quality housing - both on campus and off campus. 

The faculty at the A.L.I. are holders of M.A. degrees and are very experienced and highly motivated to assist you on your educational journey. Several of our faculty have taught overseas before joining the A.L.I. family, including China, Cambodia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Egypt, Germany, and other countries around the world.
