and proof of English language proficiency for admission.
The College of Engineering also requires either an SAT Math score or ALEKS placement
test score for admission.
Review our Admissions Requirements page for other specific program requirements.
2. Submit your admission application.
You have two ways to apply to UToledo.
1) Are you coming to college directly from high school or secondary school?
Apply using the Common App.
2) Did you take a gap year or semester or are you transferring?
Use the UToledo application. Please make sure to select "International Application" from the list of options.

Note: Even if you took college-level courses in high school, you're considered a first-time freshman.
Submit official transcripts or certificates from all secondary/high schools attended. We need your official high school transcripts for each year of secondary school. These are end-of-year grades or certificates, with official examination results, or International Baccalaureate / A Level results. They are typically for grades 9-11 or 10-12, depending on your country or school system.
Examples: 10th and 12th grade Education Board-issued certificates; WAEC results (scratch card information); O-level and A-level certificates; KCSE; SSLE. Students who have not yet graduated must also submit most recent available high school transcript.
Are you a transfer student?
Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary colleges or universities attended. Include transcripts from the colleges or universities you attended as a guest student.
Official English translations from a certified translation company are required for all educational documents that are not in English.
How to submit transcripts
Normally, we accept only transcripts that are sent by school officials. Your high school counselor or a school official can email your official and readable home country certificate or transcript and English translation to international@utoledo.edu.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may temporarily scan and email home country certificates or transcripts yourself. Be sure all emailed documents are legible and of good quality.
NOTE: If you are studying in the U.S. or Canada, we will only accept transcripts sent directly from your high school or college/university to international@utoledo.edu. They also may mail them to:
