PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES
ALYSSA AUGUSTYNIAK (She/Her/Hers) – Makaela/Madison- is a first year Theatre major from Texas. After this show, Alyssa is set to perform in a musical titled Spoon River Bridge. Previous roles include Mathilde in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Texan's Wife in Guys and Dolls, Third Reporter in Chicago, Margot in The Diary of Anne Frank, and Lisa in Negotiations in The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2024).
SETH CAMISCIONE (He/Him/His)- Steve- is a junior majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre Arts. Seth’s stage credits include Avery (FNSW); Barnaby Tucker (Hello, Dolly!); Father (FNSW); Thomas (Making God Laugh); and Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast). Technical credits include Rehearsal Stage Manager (FNSW); Costume Crew (The Diary of Anne Frank); Costume Crew and Set Construction (Hello, Dolly!); House Management (Blood at the Root); House Management (Hamlet); and Props (Making God Laugh). Seth is unsure of his plans post-graduation.
BRANDON CAMP (He/Him/His)- Trevor/Jared- is a freshman out of Bowsher high school and a Media Communication major from Toledo, Ohio. Previous roles include the Governor in Negotiations in The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2024).
LILA COOPER (She/Her/Hers) -Associate Sound Designer & Original Composition - is a fourth-year Music Performance major with a focus in Music Technology and a Psychology major from Lambertville, MI. This is her second semester sound designing within the department. Previous credits include Assistant Sound Designer The Diary of Anne Frank.
TEVY DEMBSKI (They/Them/Theirs) Assistant Stage Manager - is a junior Theatre major with a concentration in Theatre Arts. They have worked behind the scenes in Elkshire (2022), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2022), and Hamlet (2022), acted and assistant stage managed The 2nd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2023) and acted in Blood at the Root (2023). They acted, directed, and wrote for The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2024).
LEONARDO HERNANDEZ (He/Him/His) – Assistant Makeup Designer – is a second year Theatre and Health Science dual major from Toledo, Ohio. Previous roles include Peter in The Diary of Anne Frank, Hamlet in Hamlet and multiple roles in The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2024). Other credits include stagehand for Blood at The Root.
ISABELLA HERRERA (She/Her/Hers) – Vicki/Joy-is in her second year at The University of Toledo majoring in Theatre with a specialty in Stage and Screen Performance. Previous roles include Ophelia in Hamlet, Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank, and various roles in The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work in 2024.
JAMES HILL (He/Him/His) – Technical Director - is a Professor Emeritus of Theatre Design and Technology, retired from the Department of Theatre and Film at The University of Toledo. He served two terms as department chair. He is a retired member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 in Chicago, the union of professional designers and entertainment artists. Jim has designed and technical directed with Toledo Ballet, Ballet MET, the Toledo Symphony, and Glacity Theatre Collective. He spends much of his free time maintaining the League of Women Voters Toledo-Lucas County website.
OLIVER MARCONI (He/Him/His)- Doug/ Tobias- is a fourth-year Theatre major from Olmsted Falls Ohio. This is his 7th production in the department. Previous credits include The Diary of Anne Frank (Mr. Van Daan) Hamlet (Ghost/Player King) and sound board operator/playwright for The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2024). Upon graduating, Oliver plans to pursue a career as an actor/theatre teaching artist, as well as attending grad school.
KELLY McBANE (She/Her/Hers) Costume Designer, Makeup & Special Effects Designer & Costume Shop Manager - Kelly is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Toledo and has been involved in one (or multiple) way or another for each production since she began working here. She has her BA from Slippery Rock University and her MFA from Ohio University. She is grateful for the wide variety of interesting and meaningful work that she has been a part of at the University of Toledo and is proud of all of her students and the work they have done.
MARISSA McCOY (She/Her/Hers)- Kaitlyn/Chelsea- is a third year Psychology and Theatre double-major. She graduated from the Toledo School for the Arts with an honors diploma in theatre arts. Previous theatre work includes being the assistant light designer under Stephen Sakowski for both The Diary of Anne Frank, Blood at the Root, and The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work in 2024; she also starred as Merek in Elkshire and has taken on various other roles including props manager, stage crew, and spotlight operator.
BROOKLYN MITCHELL (They/Them/Theirs) – Leslie/Barbara- is a 2nd year Theatre major from Texas. Previous roles and credits include: several roles in The 2nd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2023) and Max Maxwell in The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work in 2024, costume crew for Anne Frank and The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work.
HOLLY MONSOS (She/Her/Hers) Director - is Professor/Chair of the Department of Theatre and Film. She joined the UT faculty in 1991, served as Chair from 2005 - 2011, and spent 9 years as Associate Dean of the college before returning to the department as chair. Previously she spent several years as a cutter/draper in professional theatre including with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and the San Francisco Opera. Since moving to Toledo, she has designed for the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Toledo Opera, Toledo Repertoire Theatre, Montana Rep, Public Works Collaborative and Ms. Unseen Productions in New Zealand, among others. Holly is active in her professional organization, the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), where she was recently named a Fellow. She also serves as the Executive Director for Public Works Collaborative in Toledo.
CHRISTOPHER M. MONTPETIT (He/Him/His) Theatre Manager - is originally from Niagara Falls, NY, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English/Theater from Niagara University. He continued his studies at Columbia University in New York City, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theater Management. Professionally, Mr. Montpetit has worked at such companies and institutions as Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Publishing, The Kathryn Bache Miller Theatre, The Alma Schapiro Theatre, Artpark Theatre, ABC Television, Showtime Networks Inc., Genesee Community College Center for the Arts, SummerTide Theatre, and The University of Alabama. Academically, Mr. Montpetit is currently a Senior Lecturer and Theatre Manager for the University of Toledo Department of Theatre and Film. Mr. Montpetit is the author of "What is Theatre? An Introduction to Theatre", published by Kendall Hunt Publishing in January 2016, with a revised edition published in August 2020.
ABBY PAPENFUS (She/Her/Hers) Stage Manager - is a second-year Theatre Arts major with a minor in Communication from Toledo OH! Previous credits include Assistant Stage Manager The 2nd Annual Festival of New Student Work (2023), Light Hang Crew & Costume Crew for Blood at the Root, Light Hang Crew and Assistant Stage Manager for The Diary of Anne Frank and Stage Manager for The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work in 2024.
GERARDO ROSARIO (He/Him/His)- Ryan/ Blake/Zombiekller14 - is a Junior Theatre major at the University of Toledo. He is from Puerto Rico. Several credits include Polonius (Hamlet), Dan Dad (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Mr. Dussel (The Diary of Anne Frank), and several roles in The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work. He also wrote and directed plays in the latest Annual Festival of New Student Work.
STEPHEN SAKOWSKI (He/Him/His) Lighting Designer, Sound Designer & Production Manager- Stephen is an Associate Professor at the University of Toledo and has been happy to collaborate on many productions since starting in the Department of Theatre & Film in 2015. He has his BFA from Otterbein University and his MFA from the University of California San Diego. His work can be seen on many Live Television Events, as well as regionally at The Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsie MI. AARON SMITH (He/They/She) – Voice of Game/ Zombiekller14 - is a second year Theatre major. Aaron was a stagehand for Blood at the Root, Manny and Danny for The 3rd Annual Festival of New Student Work in 2024 and a Rehearsal Stage Manager as well!
DAVID STEFFIN (He/Him/His) - Assistant Lighting Designer - is a second-year Theatre Arts major from Bedford MI. This is his first time being an assistant light designer. This will be his third show at UToledo. He was the sound board operator for Hamlet and the light board operator for Blood at the Root.
DANIEL THOBIAS (He/Him/His) Scenic & Projection Design – Daniel joined The University of Toledo Department of Theatre & Film faculty in 2012. He received his MFA in Scene Design from North Carolina School of the Arts, 2005. He has a wealth of experience with summer stock and festival theaters including Mount Washington Valley Theatre, Festival Stage of Winston Salem, North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Opera Santa Barbara, and the Cuttingball Theater.
