UToledo Band Program

THE ROCKET MARCHING BAND

The University of Toledo Rocket Marching Band is one of the largest and most visible student groups on campus! With up to 250 musicians, dancers, twirlers, and color guard, the RMB is a positive source of pride and school spirit for you as well as the entire UToledo community.  It's a GREAT time to get involved! Remember that The RMB:

  • Is open to ALL UToledo students, regardless of major. Engineering, Pharmacy, and Nursing students represent a large number of the RMB's ranks.
  • Is a class, which provides a 1-hr. elective credit that will count toward ANY degree.
  • Performs in the BEST venue in the MAC. The Glass Bowl seats 26,000 and hosts some of the most exciting college football in the country!

EVENTS

2024 Audition Information

The RMB holds auditions for all sections within the band.  EVERYONE should complete our online "Intent to March" form.   

  • Woodwinds & Brass - Auditions for the 2024 season are open and being accepted NOW through July 31, via online video submission! Click here for details about music requirements and submission procedures. (Note: this is a separate process from auditioning for the Dept. of Music) Accommodations for issues related to instrument or technology  access can be made. Questions regarding the audition process for woodwinds & brass should be directed to Dr. Andrew Rhodes, UToledo Director of Athletic Bands:  andrew.rhodes@utoledo.edu.

  • Drumline - Auditions for the 2024 season are complete and took place on-campus: Saturdays, May 18, June 15, & July 20, 10am-6pm. Click here for details about music requirements and submission procedures. Remote accommodations can be made if contacted in advance. Check out the Drumline page! Questions regarding the audition process for the drumline should be directed to Anthony Leithauser, UToledo Drumline Instructor: ToledoDrumline@gmail.com.

  • Color Guard - Auditions for the 2024 season can be arranged individually over video or in-person NOW through Saturday, July 20. Details for training exectations can be found here: https://www.utoledo.edu/bands/guard-audition-information.html Questions regarding the audition process for the Color Guard should be directed to Chad Clum, UToledo Color Guard Instructor: UTColorguard@aol.com.

  • Dancing Rockettes - Auditions for the 2024 season took place May 5, and are now complete. Click here for past audition requirements. Questions regarding the audition process for the Rockettes should be directed to Devon Schroeder, UToledo Dancing Rockettes Instructor: toledorockettes@gmail.com.

  • Feature Twirlers - Auditions for the 2024 season have been completed. Initial audition applications and videos for the 2024 season were due March 18. Invited, in-person auditions took place April 20.
