In a day centered on self-discovery and team-building, the Klar Leadership Academy hosted its second event of the 2024-2025 program, “Personal Assessment & Your Leadership DNA.”
The Saturday, October 26 session was designed to help emerging leaders at The University
of Toledo uncover the unique strengths and tendencies that shape their leadership
approach.
Held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in UToledo’s Savage Business Complex, Room 1200A/B, the event welcomed Klar participants with a catered breakfast, creating a welcoming atmosphere for the morning’s introspection and interactive activities.
After settling in, participants dove into the Predictive Index (PI) Behavioral Assessment, a tool renowned for identifying behavioral patterns and potential.
Led by PI Expert and Real Good Ventures representative Hannah Best, students received a foundational understanding of their assessment results, which provided insights into their distinctive behavioral profiles.
By analyzing their PI results, each participant was able to trace the “why” behind their behavioral inclinations—a key factor in honing self-awareness and identifying their Leadership DNA.
The session moved into collaborative exercises and group discussions, allowing students to interpret not only their own assessments but also their peers’ “behavioral wiring.”
Through this mutual exploration, the cohort practiced understanding how each member’s unique attributes could strengthen the group dynamic, equipping them to become versatile team players both within the Academy and in future professional contexts.
Klar Leadership Academy Director John Anderson III noted the power of understanding oneself in the journey to becoming an effective leader.
“Our goal with this session was to help students connect the dots between self-awareness and leadership. Knowing what motivates you, what energizes you, and what challenges you can redefine how you approach leadership—and, ultimately, how you influence others,” he shared.
With the support of experts like Hannah Best and tools such as the Predictive Index, the Klar Leadership Academy continues to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for select junior- and senior-level student leaders.
Spanning the academic year, this transformational program empowers students to develop both their leadership and team-building skills while forging stronger UToledo connections.
