I'm a Doctoral Candidate. Do I need to Purchase a hood for the hooding Ceremony?
Yes! Doctoral candidates must purchase a cap, gown, tassel, and hood for commencement.
What Does My Regalia Look Like?

CAP
A master's degree candidate wears a 4 sided, classic mortarboard graduation cap.
GOWN
The master's gown is similar to the undergraduate graduation gown but has different sleeves! The sleeves are oblong and extend past the hands. They're often called batwing sleeves.
Hood
The master's hood is three and a half feet in length and includes a lining (dark blue), chevron (gold), and velvet color (see below table).

A education specialist degree candidate wears a 4 sided, classic mortarboard graduation cap.
GOWN
The education specialist gown is similar to the undergraduate graduation gown but has different sleeves! The sleeves are oblong and extend past the hands. They're often called batwing sleeves.
Hood
The education specialist hood is three and a half feet in length and includes a lining (dark blue), chevron (gold), and velvet color (light blue).
CAP
A doctoral degree candidate has the choice of wearing a 4 sided, classic mortarboard graduation cap or they may wear a four, six, or eight sided doctoral tam.
GOWN
The doctoral gown differs from master and education specialist gowns in that it has bell sleeves with velvet chevron stripes and front velvet paneling.
Hood
The doctoral hood is four feet in length and includes a lining (dark blue), chevron (gold), and velvet color (see below table)
Tassels and hoods will differ by program.
Tassels and hoods may or may not be the same color depending on your program. Be sure to review both tabs below to ensure you purchase the correct regalia!
