Admitted Students

Welcome to Toledo Law! Now that you're officially a part of our dynamic Toledo Law community, we'll do a deeper dive into housing and resources available for you here at The University of Toledo. If you have any questions along the way, our Toledo Law Admissions team is here to help you make a smooth transition to law school.

myUT Portal

UToledo's myUT portal is your one-stop resource for paying your seat deposit, registering for classes, buying a parking permit, requesting your student ID card, and more. The LAW tab includes information for law students. You'll need to activate your University student account (UTAD) to access law content within the portal. Within myUT, click "Create Account" at the top right and then "New Account Creation/Activation." Enter your "UT Identifier" (Rocket ID from your Toledo Law letter of admission) and "Identifier Qualification" (date of birth). Once your account is active (typically within 24 hours), log in with your UTAD credentials.

Academic Calendar

Our schedule differs from the University, so remember to review our law academic calendar for important dates throughout the year.

Deposits

Reserve your seat in the entering law class with a $150 seat deposit due April 15 or within two weeks of receipt of your Toledo Law letter of admission, whichever comes later.

In addition, a $250 commitment deposit is due June 15. Payment of your commitment deposit signifies a binding intent to enroll at Toledo Law and confirms that you do not hold open offers at other law schools.

Deposits are non-refundable but will be credited toward your first-semester tuition and fees at Toledo Law. The deposits also allow us to process your financial aid award and begin to formulate your class schedule.

Pay Online

We strongly advise that you pay your deposits online as soon as possible to prevent processing delays. If you haven't done so already, activate your UTAD to get started.

  • Step 1: To activate your UTAD account, visit UTAD Account Management and enter your "UT Identifier" (Rocket ID from your Toledo Law letter of admission) and "Identifier Qualification" (date of birth).
  • Step 2: Once your account is active (typically within 24 hours), log in to myUT with your new UTAD credentials.
  • Step 3: Within myUT, select the "Student" tab, scroll to "My Accounts" under the "My Toolkit" section, and select "Deposits." You will be brought to your account, where you will click on "Deposits" in the blue menu bar to process your payment online using a credit card or electronic check.

Transcripts

In addition to the transcripts you submitted to LSAC during your law school application process, Toledo Law requires that you submit official transcripts to Toledo Law Admissions by Aug. 15. The credential assembly service report transcripts do not fulfill this requirement. Your official transcripts must be sent directly from your academic institution(s) to Toledo Law Admissions and must reflect your final grades and degrees conferred. You will not be able to begin Toledo Law classes until we receive your transcript(s).

By Email

  • One OFFICIAL electronic transcript from your undergraduate degree-granting institution
  • One OFFICIAL electronic transcript from each graduate school and/or law school in which you have been enrolled for credit

For delivery, select the electronic option (or PDF) to be delivered directly from your university registrar's office to law.admissions@utoledo.edu. Allow time for processing. Only official electronic transcripts emailed directly to Toledo Law Admissions from your academic institution will be accepted.

By Postal Mail

  • Two OFFICIAL paper transcripts from your undergraduate degree-granting institution
  • One OFFICIAL paper transcript from each graduate school and/or law school in which you have been enrolled for credit

Recent Graduates

Some academic institutions allow you to specify in your order form that you would like to hold transcript delivery until your degree is conferred. If your institution does not offer this option, recent graduates should wait until their degree conferral date is posted before submitting their official transcript order request.

Orientation

All entering students are required to attend orientation. Visit our New Law Student Orientation page for the latest information about dates, times, and schedules.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Now that you have been admitted, do you have questions about scholarships or financial aid? Do you need help with financial planning for law school? Visit Scholarships and Financial Aid.

Residency

We encourage you to review Toledo Law residency resources to learn about ways to establish residency as a veteran, Ohio high school/college/university graduate, or Michigan Monroe County resident.

Housing

The University of Toledo is a suburban campus with numerous safe and affordable on- and off-campus housing options.

Visit law housing for local, off-campus apartments that are popular with Toledo Law students. One-bedroom apartments in the Toledo area generally rent for between $400-600 per month depending on the location and amenities.

On-campus housing is also an option. There is no designated law or graduate student dorm, so you would likely be housed with undergraduate students. Visit UToledo Residence Life to learn more about on-campus housing.

Parking Services

No hangtags or hard-to-remove stickers at UToledo! The parking system is completely automated, but you will need to purchase a student parking permit to park at the Law Center. For more information about student parking permits and to download a campus map, visit UToledo Parking Services. You will not be eligible to purchase a student parking permit until you have registered for classes.

Military Service Center

The UToledo Military Service Center is dedicated to helping service members and their families with educational and support services. For more information, visit the Military Service Center or contact 419.530.VETS (1392).

Accessibility and Disability Resources

The UToledo Office of Accessibility and Disability Resources is dedicated to the interests of prospective students. To learn more about disability services, visit the Office of Accessibility and Disability Resources or contact 419.530.4981.

Qualifications for Admission to the Bar

In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. You're encouraged to determine your specific requirements by contacting the jurisdiction in which you intend to seek admission. Agency addresses are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners under "Jurisdiction Information."
