Hon. Tanya R. Kennedy, an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, First Department, was appointed to the court in July 2020. Her 18-year career as a jurist began in January 2006, serving in Criminal Court, Civil Court (including Supervising Judge in New York County), Family Court, and Supreme Court. Justice Kennedy’s unwavering dedication to legal education is evidenced by her former role as an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law, where she taught a juvenile justice seminar for ten years and will return there this fall to teach a seminar course #LawyeringUp: Skills for Success in the Legal Profession – Beyond The Books.

Benjamin R. Syroka graduated from Toledo Law in 2019, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Toledo Law Review. He now works as Career Law Clerk to the Honorable Jack Zouhary in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Ben’s work has been published in various local and nationwide periodicals, including articles on prisoner rights, recidivism, speedy-trial rights, unfair labor practices, consumer protection, judicial diversity, pro se representation, and artificial intelligence. Ben also holds various leadership positions with the Toledo Bar Association, Northern District of Ohio, and Federal Bar Association.

Hon. James R. Knepp II is a District Judge for the Northern District of Ohio, sitting in Toledo. He previously served as Magistrate Judge in the same court for over ten years. He spent his career in private practice in Toledo as a civil litigator following a clerkship with District Judge John W. Potter (ND Ohio). Judge Knepp is chair of the Northern District of Ohio IT committee and was appointed last year as the district judge representative on the Case Management Modernization Board, the body overseeing the development and implementation of the replacement for the current CM/ECF systems in all federal district, appellate and bankruptcy courts in the nation.

Matthew is a former member of Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick, LLPs Corporate and Intellectual Property and Technology Service Lines. Matthew’s practice concentrated on representing public and private companies on corporate and technology-related matters. Matthew regularly advised clients in the technology, manufacturing, automotive, and professional services industries. Matthew’s practice included an emphasis on privacy compliance, commercial transactions, distributor and supply arrangements, business acquisitions, and corporate governance.

Jim Nusbaum is a 1995 graduate of The University of Toledo College of Law and a 1992 graduate of Indiana University. Jim is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Barry Bagels Franchise Holdings. Barry Bagels currently has 51 locations either open or under development. Prior to his current professional position, he was the General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of Corner Dental. From 1998-2009, Jim was engaged in the private practice of law in Toledo, Ohio.

Agnieszka McPeak is an Associate Professor of Law and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Program Innovation. Dean McPeak’s research and writing focus on the intersection of law and technology, particularly as it relates to social media, ethics, privacy, and the innovation and sharing economies. Dean McPeak’s scholarship has been published in Wisconsin Law Review, Wake Forest Law Review, Connecticut Law Review, and Arizona State Law Journal, among others. Additionally, her work has been cited in several legal opinions, including a recent decision by the highest court of New York redefining the scope of civil discovery of social media content.

Bryan A. Bonner served as the Deputy Chief Counsel for Field Operations for the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Chief Counsel’s Office. Bryan also served as an Investigative Counsel with the United States House of Representatives Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol. During his career, Bryan also served on detail to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). Currently, Bryan serves as Regulatory Counsel at CLEAR, where he leverages his 30 years of legal and consulting experience to enhance the company's expertise and compliance in various domains, such as biometric and identity security.

His previous positions include Senior Legal Counsel at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he worked on various initiatives related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data privacy, intellectual property, quantum computing, and innovation, all with significant implications for the nation and the legal sector.
