Note: Other affiliates may be considered, if necessary (or requested by a prospective student).

Policy for MEDT student placement when placement cannot be immediately guaranteed:
Although it has never happened in the history of the MEDT program, it is possible that no clinical site rotation would be available at the time a student is scheduled to enter the clinical rotation. This may be due to situations such as unanticipated staffing shortages, budget cuts or facility remodeling.

If this ever occurs after clinical placement, where student(s) are not having clinical rotation, the following actions would be taken:

  • Contact other existing affiliates to see if there are additional clinical rotations that can be accommodated within the next 12 months
  • Seek a new affiliation
  • The candidate could be placed in the first available position in the next cohort

If there are multiple students that are impacted, ranking of the students offered these options would be based on the MEDT progression to clinic GPA (MEDT 4020, MEDT 4030, MEDT 4040, MEDT 4050, MEDT 4060, MEDT 4070, MEDT 4080).
