Get a Course Number

Contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@utoledo.edu before proposing new numerical codes. If modifying a course, do not change the course’s number. Changing course numbers impacts systems across campus and should be avoided.

Inactivate a Course or Program (Suspension of Admissions into a Program) in CIM

Course and program inactivation takes place through CIM.  Look up the course or program you wish to inactivate in CIM, click on the red "inactive" buttoninactivation button in CIM. Complete the short form and submit to workflow.

When inactivating a course consider the following:

• Is this course you are inactivating a pre-requisite to another course? If so, a course modification of the other course will also be needed.

• Is the course a required or an elective of a major? If so, a program modification will also be needed.

• Is this course cross-listed with another department or co-listed, have the departments consulted together on the inactivation?

In CIM Courses you can see what programs referencing the course.

Inactivation Workflow

When inactivating a course or program, the workflow will only require Office of the Provost approval before the Office of the Registrar makes it official in Banner.  All other levels will receive an FYI notification.  When reactivating a course, click the green reactivate button and submit to workflow. The full workflow of approvals for the college must be followed.

CIM access and  help document may be found here.

Requesting a Catalog update

The University Catalog is updated annually.  Program requirements and plans of study are updated via a program or course modification through CIM.  Other updates, such as new contact person, typos, or grammar issue may be updated by emailing the request to catalgo@utoledo.edu.
