Internship Forms and Evaluations
Notice to Students:
This page outlines various procedures for the required internship experience as part of the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences Program (non-PharmD). Do not utilize these forms until you have first registered your internship through the BSPS Internship Coordinator; they will guide you on the appropriate steps and timeline for officializing your required internship experience.
BSPS Internship Procedures and Guidelines
- Search for an internship during your P1 year in collaboration with the BSPS Internship Coordinator. The internship must be 400 working hours over 10-12 weeks and must be related to your degree. The internship must be comparable to a role that you would receive with a bachelor's level education; therefore, pharmacy technician roles, medical scribe roles, and the like would not qualify for your internship requirement since these roles do not require a bachelor's degree.
- When an internship is secured, you must send your accepted offer letter to the BSPS Internship Coordinator for review and approval. When approved, the BSPS Internship Coordinator will give you access to internship course registration. You must register for your designated internship course in order for the internship to become officialized on your degree audit.
- Internships may not be retroactive (i.e., you cannot register an internship that occured in the past). The internship and course registration must be concurrent with each other. Further, completion of all P1 coursework is a prerequisite for the registered internship course; therefore, the earliest that you may complete a registered internship experience is the summer following your P1 year.
- At the beginning of the semester in which you're completing your internship, the BSPS Internship Coordinator will send you and the employer the following forms; you do not have to take any action prior to that point. The Coordinator will communicate the syllabus, assignment instructions, and procedures via email to all registered interns at the start of the semester.
- If employers have questions, they may contact the Coordinator: joseph.battelline@utoledo.edu
