Request an Employment Verification Letter
Employment Verification Letter Travel Letter
BMV Letters: OISSS no longer writes letters for renewal of driver licenses. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and Michigan Secretary State (SOS) now use the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Program, an online system that checks DHS databases to verify an applicant's immigration status. If you are in H-1B status, take your current H-1B approval and H-1B extension receipt notice to a BMV/SOS location at least two weeks before your driver license expires. The BMV/SOS agent will check the database to confirm the information. The information might not be verified by SAVE right away, so the agent might provide you with a temporary extension and mail the driver’s license to your home address.
