Mission & History

CISP Mission Statement

The Center for International Studies and Programs (CISP) supports members of the UToledo community, domestic and international, in their pursuit of knowledge and cultural exchanges.

CISP Vision Statement

The Center for International Studies and Programs (CISP) will be recognized for its expertise in global engagement and internationalization of The University of Toledo community.

History

The Center for International Studies and Programs (CISP) was created in September 2011.

The creation of the Center for International Studies and Programs was based on recognition of the need to assist our students in exploring their world and better streamlining of all UToledo international efforts. With the creation of CISP we have developed collaborative relationships among the American Language Institute, Office of International Student and Scholar Services, the former Confucius Institute and the former Office of Academic Engagement. Our ability to provide high quality service to our customers will be greatly enhanced through our capacity to join resources and talents.

CISP brought together Global Health, Global Initiatives, International Student and Scholar Services, American Language Institute, the former Confucius Institute and the student experiences programs which were housed in the UToledo Learning Collaborative Office of Academic Engagement and include Study Abroad, Camp Adventure, Service Learning and Community Outreach opportunities, Study Away through the National Student Exchange, and the Washington Center Internship Program.
