Program Introduction

The Intensive English program is a short-term customizable employee training program hosted by the Center for International Studies and Programs at The University of Toledo. It is developed for international companies and institutes that seek educational experience for their employees in the chosen field of expertise. Participants benefit from this program through improving their communicative English skills, enhancing their knowledge of U.S. social and academic culture, and exchanging ideas with U.S. experts in the chosen field. 

Program Highlights

  • Customized program length, contents, and concentration based on group expectation;
  • Introduction to U.S. academic culture including curriculum, pedagogies, grading scale, and classroom philosophy;
  • Intensive exposure to U.S. social culture through both formal teaching and informal communication with local Americans;

  • Certified service team with professionals in international affairs and program management;
  • Accessibility to university campus resources (gym, dormitory, library, etc.); and
  • Variety of experiential learning opportunities through visiting local companies in chosen field of study.
