OUR SERVICES
The Canaday Center is home to a secure, climate-controlled facility that preserves historical records for the use of future generations. Our materials are available for use by anyone, including the University of Toledo community, family historians and genealogists, local historians, business owners, lawyers, and writers.
In order to connect you with the public records and personal or private papers that span more than 200 years, we offer the following the services:
Reference and Research
Among the services provided by staff and faculty of the Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections, research assistance stands out as the most significant.
Instruction and Outreach
We also work to increase the availability of our collections through teaching students about primary sources and promoting our materials in regular exhibitions.
Records Management
Our Records Management program assists University offices with meeting the records retention requirements of the state of Ohio.
