Remarkable Spaces, Matthew McNulty
Join us for the Remarkable Spaces exhibit by Matthew McNulty. The exhibit is the first of the 2025-2026 Carlson Library Gallery Series and will run in the South Gallery August 25 through October 17.
Matthew McNulty is a photographer whose work explores the feel and memory of place. Drawing on his background in architectural photography, he focuses on quiet, atmospheric spaces—locations that feel still but speak to something larger. Based in Ohio and working across the country, McNulty brings a sense of calm observation to both public landmarks and overlooked corners of the everyday landscape.
Remarkable Spaces is a collaborative project created by Tedd Long and Matthew McNulty—two local creatives united by a shared passion for the architecture, history, and design of Northwest Ohio. The project connects people to remarkable spaces across the 419, making the familiar newly visible and the overlooked newly meaningful.
Through photography and storytelling, Remarkable Spaces encourages the public to see their surroundings with fresh eyes. Its mission is to educate and inspire by highlighting the design, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of the built environment in our region—and to foster a deeper sense of place through the study, interpretation, and conservation of our local spaces.
