About SLA
SLA is designed to help build stronger leaders in Recreational Services and The University of Toledo. Students who register for the Student Leadership Academy will participate in a two day course with presentations from UT Faculty, UT Staff and the Toledo community. Students will have professional portrait photos taken for use with networking websites such as LinkedIn as well as a certification that students can add to their resume.
Goals of SLA
- Give students all the tools and the skills necessary to function in a democratic society.
- Guide students in understanding the business structure of Collegiate Recreation and roles as student employees in contributing to its success.
- Empower students to create goals that promote professional and leadership skills that are transferrable to professional careers.
Who can Attend SLA?
As student development is a core value of our department, all Office of Recreational Services Student Employees are encouraged to attend SLA. Any employee interested in applying for leadership roles such as Student Specialist, Intramural Site Manager or Building Supervisor are required to attend SLA.
