Meet the Fitness Staff

 

Adrienne Fitness 

Adrienne Ansel - Coordinator, Health & Fitness

MX4, Circuit-based classes, Cycle, & Dance Fitness

I LOVE circuits and HIIT, but also have a heart for strength training. I aim to build exercise programs based on my client's interests and goals while providing education, resources, and support during their fitness journey.

Mission: My mission is to make fitness, and wellness accessible, exciting, and enjoyable for every BODY. I believe that a life of balance brings peace, strength, joy, and a lot of fun, too!

Life outside the Gym: Outside of the gym, I enjoy dancing and choreographing, riding my bike, and spending time with my family and friends. I am a proud cat mom to our sweet kitties - Mouse, Milly, and Momo.

Mission: Life is an adventure that that takes place one small step at a time: be present in the moment and maintain balance to motivate movement towards your ideal integrated state of being.

Life outside the Gym: I enjoy staying active outside the gym too, some of my other hobbies include hiking, watersports, and snowsports. In my down time I love spending with my family, friends, and of course my dog! On the weekends you can find me making a home cooked meal or baking a carrot cake.

Mission: I believe that small steps in the right direction can make a huge difference when it comes to health and wellness. Making one right choice at a time can lead to immense changes in your lifestyle, fitness, mental and physical health.

Life outside the Gym: I am a senior at the University of Toledo studying Exercise Science. I plan on returning to school to pursue a career in nursing following graduation. I enjoy taking care of my plants, drinking too much coffee, serving at my church, reading a good book, traveling, and playing sports on various teams in my community. I have 3 sisters and you can usually find with me with one of them when I'm not at work or school.

Mission: I believe that exercise is healthy for the mind and body and it can be a great way to connect with others.

Life outside the Gym: I am a college student majoring in exercise science with hopes of becoming a physical therapist. I am a crossfit athlete so I spend most of my free time training.

Mission: Exercise is a lifestyle of motivation, strength, building community, and finding enjoyment in being active to achieve optimal overall health. My mission is to make fitness fun and challenging, and support and guide people to feel empowered to change their lives and continually strive to become their strongest, healthiest and happiest versions of themselves.

Life outside the Gym: I am currently an exercise science student with a pre-physical therapy concentration. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, playing soccer, cooking, baking, crafting, serving at my church, and staying active outdoors by biking and hiking.

Life outside the Gym: I am currently a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Student. I have been NASM Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist. Also, I have been Scuba Certified and have taking up a new interest of powerlifting. 
My goal is to see as much as I can in this world. Lastly, I have 3 cats, AKA a cat daddy.

Mission: Exercise should be both challenging and fun! The ideal fitness plan should teach self-confidence that can be transferred to activites outside of the gym.

Life outside the Gym: I am actively involved in coaching travel volleyball and volunteering at my church! I love to see people grow and reach their personal and athletic goals.

Mission: For me, fitness was a way to connect to my inner power. I believe fitness is a key element of wellness. It allows each person to tap into the fullest version of themselves!

Life outside the Gym: I am very involved on campus and love student organizations! In my free time I read, hang out with friends and family, and enjoy yoga.

Life outside the Gym: After becoming a Heidelberg University Alumni in May of 2021, I am currently working on my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at UT. Outside of the gym, I have three other jobs as a work study student, caretaker, and running my own online personal training business. In my free time, I love to read, paint, craft, and explore the metroparks around Toledo!

Life outside the Gym: My husband, 2 young children and I enjoy traveling and staying active outdoors by doing things like water sports, skiing, hiking and going on bike rides.

Mission: Your health journey begins with you. It’s your journey and it does not compare to anyone else’s. Embrace and believe in yourself so that you may create and maintain your own healthy life changes. Remember, everyone has or has had a day 1 so you’re never alone.

Life outside the Gym: I love dancing! I Line Dancing, Ballroom, Chicago Steppin, Latin Hustle, Bop and a little Salsa. I’m also a Line Dancing and Beginner Steppin Instructor. Also, I have my own personal classes for Line Dancing every Friday evening. I do privates, group lessons and events for fitness and dance for individuals, companies and organizations. I have 2 grandchildren that keep me happily busy as well.

Boot camp

Mission: Practicing prevention can often make intervention unnecessary. The hardest part of fitness is starting a workout or routine in the first place. Once you begin, allow the energy you feel each time you complete a workout, to be the motivation to push you to continue.

Life outside the Gym: I am a full-time working mom of two beautiful children; a 2 year old and 6 year old. As soon as I get home from work, I start my most rewarding job which is being a parent. Exercise gives me the energy and motivation I need to keep up with them. I often include them in my workouts as well:) In addition to being a mother, I enjoy spending time camping and being outdoors with my husband and children!

Life outside the Gym: When I’m not forming mind, body, and spirit connections, you can catch me taking a long walk, fumbling on a guitar, or trying not to burn popcorn right before the movie starts!! (Also cats are better than dogs! it’s just a fact haha!!)

Life outside the Gym: I'm a Toledo native pursuing medicine with hopes of working in trauma care. When I'm not studying or teaching I enjoy talking my dog Finn on walks and showering my four cats with unrequited love. I enjoy watching Modern Family on repeat, matcha lattes, and scrapbooking.

Turn Up Dance Fitness

Mission: Self care and self love is so important. Exercise can help not just your physical fitness, but also your overall mental and emotional well being. The hardest part is deciding to do it and to take this time for yourself. I encourage everyone to choose to show up for yourself.

Life outside the Gym: Fitness is an important part of my life both inside and outside of the gym. When I am not working out, I enjoy spending time with my family and my friends. I work in healthcare so taking care of others is an important part of who I am and what I do. Also, music has always been an important component of my life. I listen to all types of music. I enjoy traveling, going to concerts, and I welcome new adventures!

Life outside the Gym: I am a Donor Relations Coordinator for Lourdes University and enjoy giving others opportunities to help those in need. Being active and outside in any way shape or form is my happy place! I am originally from Utah and love to run, snow ski, water ski, hike, and love going on bike rides with my husband, and love of my life, Sam, who is a current medical student at the University of Toledo. I LOVE traveling, speaking Spanish, and enjoying all foreign cuisine.

Life outside the Gym: I am a full time Real Estate Agent with The Danberry Company. When I am not working, I enjoy camping, fishing, golfing, and pretty much any physical activity that involves the outdoors.

 

 

 

Tristan Rogers -  Fitness Intern

Mission: Fitness has become an integral part of my life. Being type 1 diabetic, it's important that I exercise to stay healthy. Although the health benefits of exercise are great, I think everyone can learn to fall in love with some form of exercise.

Life outside the Gym: Very late into my undergraduate exercise science program I decided healthcare was a route I was interested in. I work at The Toledo Hospital as a patient transporter at night and attend classes in the mornings. I'm also vice president of the University of Toledo Powerlifting Club where we help to make strength training more accessible via increasing the community aspect of fitness.
