Frequently Asked Questions

NIRSA Movement Challenge

What is the challenge?

The National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) is leading a country-wide movement challenge running from April 6 - May 3 that enables university students, faculty and staff to compete against other colleges and universities.

How do I sign up?

UToledo students, faculty, staff and alumni with an @rockets.utoledo.edu or @utoledo.edu email can access online fitness classes from more than 40 schools through NIRSA's online Movement Challenge Platform, where they can self-report their minutes of physical activity. Self-reported physical activity does not need to come from participation in the virtual group fitness classes; it can come from any type of movement they enjoy.

Check out the leaderboard to see where UToledo ranks in the competition. Let’s bring it, Rockets!

How Do I Tune In to Live Classes via the Challenge?

Once you have created your NIRSA Recreation Movement Challenge account, and have authenticated your email, you will be able to sign up for classes each time by going to the NIRSA Recreation Movement Challenge Portal.

After logging in to the NIRSA Recreation Movement Challenge portal, you will click on the Recreation Movement Logo on the upper left-hand side to get the website's home page.

Once you are in the portal and are logged in on the main page via the link above, you will select classes from the list of "Upcoming Live Events." If you do not see the class you would like to participate in, click the "View All" tab for a comprehensive list of all classes that are available from over 40 schools across the nation! It is recommended that you bookmark the portal to your "favorites" in your web browser, as this is how you will be able to participate in all of the live fitness classes!

Share your movement on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok! Be sure to use #RecreationMovement and #ActiveUToledo!
