June 13 - 24, 2022

If you're a teen interested in learning the basics of filmmaking, The University of Toledo Department of Theatre and Film will host a 100% online film camp, June 13-24, 2022, for students ages 14 – 18.

The Virtual Filmmaker Summer Film Intensive is a two-week virtual filmmaking summer camp for teens looking to grow their narrative video-making skills. The camp features live, online class times and daily assignments. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The instructor, Quincy Joyner, assistant lecturer of theatre and film, will be your guide and mentor every step of the way.

You can use your own smartphone or home video camera equipment. “As long as it shoots video and sound, we can work with that,” says Joyner. “The main focus will be on developing good visual storytelling using a camera.” You will conceptualize, write, shoot and edit films, with an emphasis on creating visually. Grow creatively while experiencing a college-level seminar.
