About International Student Welcome Week
International Student Welcome Week is a one-week program that aims to provide new international students an opportunity to get familiar with the UToledo campus and university resources. The programs combines helpful workshops, presentations and activities on academic support, housing, residence life, campus jobs, campus tour, insurance and classroom expectations for international students. Students will have a chance to meet with university faculty and staff, connect with U.S. students, make lots of new friends and be prepared for the orientation!

2024 FALL International Welcome Week Schedule

Monday, August 19
Walmart Shopping Trip - starting at 9am, in front of CISP (Snyder Memorial, room 1000)
Free ride to Walmart to purchase groceries. Only 50 seats available (first-come, first
serve).
Campus Tour - 2:00pm, leaving from CISP (Snyder Memorial, room 1000)
Take a walk around our campus and learn more about UToledo's history and what it has
to offer to our new international students.
Tuesday, August 20

Wednesday, August 21
Lunch and Meet & Greet, with CISP and International Admissions - 11:00am to 12:30pm in the Student Union Auditorium
Meet the CISP team and the International Admissions team, as well as the International
Student Association (ISA). You will be able to learn about the CISP resources that
will be very beneficial for you during your academic years, and the best part is that
we will provide FREE lunch to all our new international students during the Meet &
Greet!
CISP International Resource Fair (MANDATORY for all international students) - 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Student Union
Auditorium
Come and join us for the CISP International Resource Fair. Over 30 offices on campus
will be at the fair to promote their services and programs. The university mascot
will be there to take photos! Free giveaways for all who attend!
Thursday, August 22
Walmart Shopping Trip - starting at 8:30am, exclusively to the students who signed
up during the CISP International Resource Fair
UToledo Athletics Experience - 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Tour the Savage Arena and see where our Rockets compete against rival universities.
This tour will include a backstage walkthrough.
REC Center Tour - 3:20pm to 4:20pm
Tour the REC Center and see all the structure that UToledo offers for the students:
indoor tennis courts, badminton, basketball, a complete modern fitness gym, an indoor
track field, pools, rock climbing wall, among other cool stuff!
Rocket Welcome Bonfire - 7:00pm to 10:00pm in the Flatlands
Join the rest of the newest Rockets living on campus for the year for a kickoff bonfire!
We will be serving dinner and you'll have an opportunity to roast a smore. Enjoy music
from our own student led broadcast, WXUT. Enjoy various yard games and meet the professional
staff in the Office of Residence Life.
Friday, August 23
UTPD - University of Toledo Police Department - 10:30am to 12:00pm
Meet the University of Toledo police officers and tour the University of Toledo Police
Department, including the campus surveillance room, police cars, police gear, and
so much more cool stuff. This tour only happens once a year, so don't miss this opportunity.
Welcome Class of 2028 Barbecue - 12:00pm to 2:00pm in the Flatlands
Join our new students for a welcome to campus barbecue! We will be serving up barbecue
pulled pork and chicken, barbecue jackfruit (vegetarian option), baked beans, cole
slaw, and ice cream for dessert.
Class of 2028 Group Photo - 3:00pm to 3:30pm in the Paul Hotmer Field

New Student Convocation - 3:45pm to 4:45pm in the Savage Arena (MANDATORY)
New Student Convocation is an annual event that welcomes new students to the University
of Toledo, and introduces them to key University faculty, staff, and resources to
assist them in their transition to campus.
Campus Activities & Programming (CAP) Carnival - 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the old Carter
Hall field, next to the Glass Bowl Stadium Join Campus Activities & Programming (CAP) as we welcome back all our students
from an amazing Summer! Kick-off the semester with the CAP Carnival that includes
a Mechanical Bull, Rock Climbing Wall, Extreme Air, and so much more. The fun doesn’t
stop there. What’s a carnival without the carnival food? Grab your favorite carnival
treats like Funnel Sticks, Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, and all the rest of your favorite
snacks.
Saturday, August 24
Class of 2028 Lunch - 12:00pm to 1:30pm in the Flatlands
Join us for lunch on the Rocket Welcome Weekend. We will be serving up Walking Tacos
with shredded chicken or Tofu, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, sour
cream, salsa and assorted fresh baked cookies.
Rocky & Rocksy's Meet Up - 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the basketball courts in the Student Recreation Center (REC Center)
Join us for a high-energy experience to help you meet your classmates through interactive
games and activities. Required for all new first-year students.
Flick on the Field - 8:00pm - 10:00pm in the Glass Bowl Stadium (Rain location: Student
Union Auditorium)
Continue the celebration of the Class of 2028 with Flick on the Field. We will be
showing a new movie on the Glass Bowl stadium field. Grab your friends, a blanket,
and some of your favorite movie theater treats. We will have the popcorn and drinks
waiting for you!
Sunday, August 25
Toledo Museum of Art Tour - 11:00am & 11:30am (only for students who signed-up during
the CISP Resource Fair)
Come and join us for a tour of the Toledo Museum of Art. One of the top 10 art museums
in U.S. (lunch is on your own, there is a restaurant at the museum). This is a FREE
ride to the museum, exclusive for the students who signed up in person during the
Resource Fair, on Wednesday. Seats are limited!
