Clinical Psychology Doctoral Internship (PSY 8940)
Students who are registered for the PSY 8940 internship are considered to be full-time students by the University. Students who are financial aid recipients have the option of receiving federal and/or alternative loans for the terms they are on this internship. State financial aid programs and UT recruitment/merit scholarships cannot be used during an internship term. Students must request the use of financial aid for each co-op term and this request must be received by the 15th day of the term.
To request to use federal financial aid and/or alternative loans during an internship term for fall and/or spring semester, students must be registered for the internship and complete the Financial Aid Enrollment Certification Form on the myUT portal. Students will receive an email notice when this certification has been requested for the term. This form will be available:
Fall semester: From the end of July through the end of the add/drop period for fall
Spring semester: From the first week in December through the end of the add/drop period for spring
To request to use federal financial aid and/or alternative loans during a co-op term for summer semester, students must be registered for the internship and complete the Summer Aid Application on the myUT portal. This form is available from March through July, exact dates available on our website.
This internship class will receive a grade just like any other class. If the internship class is not graded during the regular grading period, students will be cited for a lack of satisfactory academic progress. Further payments of financial aid will not be made until the class is graded and the students have met all other satisfactory academic progress criteria.
