Rocket, are you returning to UToledo to continue your graduate degree after pausing for one calendar year or more? Faculty advisors and department chairs, you will find helpful information to support your graduate Rocket on this webpage as well.
Readmission applications received after the first week of classes will be processed for the following term, so plan ahead!

Returning Student - Steps to Take:
1. Review Readmission Application & Reach out to Academic Department
The first step in the readmission process is to review the readmission application and connect with an academic advising contact or department chair from your academic department. Your program contact will need to work with you to complete a new plan of study and determine if other forms may be necessary to submit.
What is required?
- Readmission application
- Updated Plan of Study
- If exceeding time limit of degree program by 1 year or less: “Continuation of Matriculation for Degree” form
- If exceeding time limit of degree program by over 1 year: “Request for Time Extension & Course Recertification” form
- Extension fees are due by graduation. If not paid, a transcript/diploma hold will be placed on the account

2. Complete Readmission Application & Required Documents
After consulting with your academic department, you will need to complete the readmission application, including the Student Conduct & Community Standards webform (SCCS link on application) and required documents. You will send the items to your academic department to sign and forward to our office.
3. Pay Readmission Fee
Keep an eye on your email! If approved, you will receive an email with a link to pay the $50 readmission fee to our secure Touchnet portal. That authorizes us to reopen your registration and make you an active student.
4. Await Confirmation
Our office will reach out again once you are set to schedule classes. Be sure to monitor your email for updates!
Graduate Advisor/Department Chair - Steps to Take:
1. Complete Readmission Application & Required Documents
Required:
- Readmission Application: Upon completing their portion of the application, the student will forward the application to you to complete the academic college portion. You will need to indicate the term for which they will be readmitted, the term of their expected graduation, their academic program, and if the student intends to change their major/concentration upon readmission.
- Updated Plan of Study: You will need to submit an updated Plan of Study. An existing Plan of Study will not fulfill this requirement.
May Be Required:
- For students seeking a one year extension to their original time limit, a “Continuation of Matriculation for Degree” form must be completed and attached.
- For students seeking extensions beyond one year to their original time to degree, a “Request for Time Extension & Course Recertification” form must be completed and attached.
2. Obtain Additional Signatures and Forward All Materials to College of Graduate Studies
Please ensure the application and materials have all required signatures and forward all items to GCAcademicSvcs@utoledo.edu.
