2026 Awards

Best Clinical Teaching Award
This award is given to a resident/fellow that demonstrates a consistent & remarkable enthusiam for teaching our medical students.
Gabrielle Notorgiacomo, M.D.
PGY-2 –Orthopaedic Surgery
Nominator Notes:
Dr. Notorgiacomo is one of the most passionate and invested residents I have ever
worked with. Despite her long hours and demanding clinical duties, she consistently
creates opportunity for education and student involvement. In the operating room,
she will make sure there are ample opportunities for you to participate. It really
stood out to me that while operating, she takes the time before getting started to
make sure there is room for you at the table, that you can see, and that you know
the exact plan so you are able to participate and take responsibility.
She asks for your input, and genuinely considers it, taking your opinion and proposals into account while working together to create patient treatment plans. That may sound small, but as a medical student it is so nice to be seen and feel truly responsible for our patients care (under supervision) and is excellent preparation for becoming a resident.
Dr. Notorgiacomo opens opportunities for you that she doesn't have to and many others often don't. These little moments are often where we learn the most, and it is nice to have someone who thinks of you and considers everything as a teaching experience for students rather than a hinderance.
I cannot recommend Dr. Notorgiacomo enough for this award. She is the most kind, compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated teacher and mentor I have encountered, and she consistently demonstrates an obvious dedication to teaching in everything she does. She is truly more than deserving.
