Navigating the College Party Scene: Resources for Making Healthy Drinking Decisions

Understanding The University of Toledo’s policies regarding alcohol and other drugs is an important step in ensuring your safety and the safety of others around you.

Here are some helpful resources to review and consider when making decisions regarding alcohol.

The University of Toledo Student Code of Conduct

Federal law and UToledo policy do not permit consumption, possession, sale and/or distribution of alcoholic beverages before a person’s twenty-first birthday. Additionally, it is not permitted to host or participate in any activity promoting excessive consumption of alcohol.

Possession, use, and/or misuse of any controlled substance, drug, or prescription drugs not prescribed is not permitted on campus, even if recommended in accordance with state law.  For more information about drug and alcohol policies, read The University Code of Conduct.

UToledo wants you to confidently make the right decision if faced with an alcohol or drug emergency without fear of going through the student conduct process. Through the Student Conduct Amnesty Policy, both the person calling for help and the person in crisis may not be referred for student conduct action and the incident may not appear on either person's educational record. Read the Student Conduct Amnesty Policy.

The University of Toledo Hazing Policy

Hazing is defined as any act or situation which endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition of continued membership, regardless of one’s willingness to participate. If you may be the victim of hazing or are aware of hazing or suspect hazing, please contact the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards at 419.530.1258 or email StudentConduct@UToledo.edu.
