Next Steps To Declaring Your Major
STEPS TO DECLARE YOUR MAJOR:
- You must meet GPA and other requirements for your intended college and major, see college major requirements and contact information below.
- Call or email your college office, specify your intended major and make an appointment to meet with an advisor.
- Your new advisor will fill out a change of college form and submit to the registrar’s office.
PRE-Health TRACK*:
- Students interested in the Pre-Med, Pre-Vet, Pre-PA, Pre-PT, Pre-OT, or Pre-Dent can add these on as a concentration
- Pre-Med, Pre-Dent, Pre-PA, Pre-PT, Pre-OT, and Pre-Vet ARE NOT majors
- To utilize the Pre-Health Advising Center students will need to add the Pre-Health advising attribute(PHAF).
- Each concentration will have its own specific admission requirements and a fee.

- 2.4 UToledo GPA for B.B.A. except ACCT (see below to declare ACCT)
- 2.25 UToledo GPA and completed associate’s degree for BAOT
- 2.0 UToledo GPA for associate’s degrees
- As long as students have a 2.0 UToledo GPA they are encouraged to change into business —where they can appeal into a higher degree
- To be admitted to the accounting major, students must earn a minimum 2.75 higher education GPA, as well as a C (2.0) or higher in BUAD 2040 and 2050 or equivalent courses

Engineering Science Program:
- 2.75 higher education GPA and C or better in MATH 1850 and CHEM 1230 (not C-)
- Transfer admission decisions are based on higher education GPA and ignore
- GPA recalculations/grade deletions
- Records of internal transfers are first reviewed by the College of Engineering Office of Undergraduate Studies
Engineering Technology Program:
- 2.25 higher education GPA for all majors
- Transfer admission decisions are based on higher education GPA and ignore GPA recalculations/grade deletions
- Records of internal transfers are first reviewed by the College of Engineering Office of Undergraduate Studies
- Completion of MATH 1330 or 1340 with C or better for Construction Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Completion of MATH 1850 or 2450 with C or better for Computer Science and Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology
