Midweek learning made easy
The Summer Series is a set of 30‑minute training sessions held every Wednesday in June, designed to provide meaningful learning in a convenient, easy‑to‑attend format. Manager Planning Session
The Manager Planning Session is a collaborative consulting experience designed to support managers in building or refining a structured onboarding approach and identifying meaningful learning and development opportunities for their team. Working alongside the Training & Organizational Development team, managers review current practices, align on goals, and create practical, action‑oriented plans tailored to their department.
What participants will gain:
- Assess and refine current onboarding and development practices
- Clarify departmental goals related to employee success and engagement
- Identify targeted learning and development opportunities for the team
- Leave with clear tools, resources, and actionable next steps
Emerging leaders are nominated by senior leadership or through an approved self-nomination.
L.E.A.D. Program Nomination Form
Program Experience Includes
- Facilitated learning sessions led by UT senior leaders focused on higher education and academic healthcare
- Executive coaching informed by a Leadership 360 assessment
- Crucial Conversations® certification

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the LEAD Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a full-time UToledo staff or faculty member
- Have a minimum of six (6) months of service at The University of Toledo
- Have no active disciplinary action
- Be able to commit at least three (3) hours per month to fulfill program requirements
- Obtain supervisor approval prior to participation
Nomination and Timeline
- Emerging leaders may be self-nominated or nominated by Senior Leadership
- Nominations due Friday, October 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
- Participants notified by late November 2026
- Program runs January 2027 – December 2027
Additional Information
Participation in the LEAD Program does not guarantee promotion or advancement. The program is designed to prepare employees for future leadership opportunities and support ongoing personal and professional growth.
Leadership assessments are included as part of the program experience.
