We are hosting a volunteer meeting and walkthrough on Thursday, April 10 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Field House Room 1030 and we welcome you to attend! All judges and volunteers are welcome to come to this meeting to learn more about what to expect on the day of the MGRS and to become familiar with the venue.

We recommend parking in Area 13. Accessible parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Parking permits will be enforced. If you do not hold a campus parking permit, you can purchase a "C" day permit for $5.95. Please note you are able to park in "C" lots with white-lined spaces with this permit.

Arrival
We recommend using the Centennial Mall entrance for arrival as this will lead you to our registration tables upon entry.
When you arrive, you will check in at our registration tables to receive your judge badge lanyard, your meal ticket, program, and information packet. Our greeters will provide you with helpful directions.

Below is what you can expect on the day of MGRS. We encourage you to stay for the full event if possible as we are recognizing and presenting our judges and volunteers with certificates of appreciation during the closing ceremony.

Below you will find information for each judging category.
Morning Session Judges: Seminar & Lightning Talks
What to Expect
When you arrive, you will check in at the registration table. Our registration volunteers will provide you with a program and your room assignment.
When the opening remarks and keynote address conclude, judges and presenters will be directed to their assigned seminar rooms and prepared by the room moderator.
Your room will have your rubrics prepared and pre-filled with presenter information. You will not need to bring anything with you.

Afternoon Session Judges: Posters
What to Expect
When you arrive, you will check in at the registration table. Our registration volunteers will provide you with a program, your poster assignments, and a clipboard with all rubrics of presentations you will judge.
When the lunchtime professional development sessions conclude at 1 p.m., poster sessions will begin.
Your clipboard will have your rubrics prepared and pre-filled with presenter information. You will not need to bring anything with you.
Should you like a space to complete your scoring, we will have a judge station located in Field House 1030.

Volunteer Roles

Registration Table Support
Our registration table volunteers provide attendees, presenters, judges, and fellow volunteers with helpful information as they check in including MGRS programs and guiding packets.
Floaters & Greeters
Our floaters and greeters assist attendees, presenters, and judges with directions, answer questions, and connect participants with other volunteers and event coordinators.
Judge and Evaluation Support
Our volunteers assisting with judge and evaluation support will collect scoring sheets from moderators and tabulate scores.
Session Moderators
During the morning presentations, our session moderators introduce presenters, keep track of time, and collect scoring sheets from judges to provide to judge and evaluation support volunteers.
Dress Code
While we don't have a firm dress code, we ask all volunteers to wear black if possible (dark colors work too!). We will provide all volunteers with a lanyard to identify them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to register as an attendee?
Nope! You will not have to complete the attendee registration.
Can undergraduate students volunteer?
Yes! We welcome all UToledo students, faculty, and staff to join us as volunteers and appreciate your support.
