What is the GSA?
The GSA is the largest graduate student organization at UToledo! They also function as the student government body of the graduate & professional student population. The GSA meets monthly to discuss topics relevant and important to graduate student life. As a graduate or professional student, you are automatically a member! The more involved you are, the more benefits there are to you.

FUNDING & AWARDS
Research Travel & Conference Registration Reimbursement
Traveling to present your research at a conference? Registering for a conference to learn from experts in your discipline? Being a member of the Graduate Student Association means you're eligible to apply for a portion of your costs to be reimbursed!
Eligibility
All members of the GSA can apply for research travel & conference registration reimbursement funding. The amount each member qualifies for will depend on their type of membership. The more involved you are, the higher the amount!

How it Works
- Complete the GSA Pre-Travel and Conference Reimbursement Application on InvoNet.
- If pre-approved: Once you return from your travel/conference, complete the Post-Travel Documentation form on InvoNet.
- If approved: Submit your documentation and expense report through Concur.
Graduate Research Awards
The Graduate Student Association provides an amount of research funding per academic year to assist a number of graduate students completing research for their degree requirements. This funding is especially helpful for students working on their thesis or dissertation.

Eligibility
Applicants must be a master's or doctoral student in good standing enrolled in a research course during the Spring 2025 term and working on a research project for the completion of their degree.
Applicants will need to have the necessary research approvals, and approval from their advisor.
How it Works
1. Gather your needed documents and submit your Graduate Research Award Application before the deadline.
2. A committee of faculty will review applications and select awardees.
3. If selected, you will receive an official award letter and the College of Graduate Studies will work with your department on the rest!
MEMBERSHIP & INVOLVEMENT
Membership Types


General Membership
All registered graduate and professional students are automatically general members of the GSA! As a general member, you can attend meetings and events, present at the Midwest Graduate Research Symposium, serve on committees, request funding, and vote in general elections.
Active Membership
All general members who have either attended at least two General Assembly meetings within 6 months or volunteered at the latest Midwest Graduate Research Symposium are active members! Active members have extra perks including eligibility to request additional funding and running for elected positions!
How Can I Get Involved?

Attend General Assembly Meetings
Attending two General Assembly meetings within six months will earn you Active Membership for the six months following meeting attendance! Click here for upcoming dates.
