Toledo Law Named a Top School in the Nation for Public Service
Toledo Law was ranked nationally in preLaw magazine's "Best Law Schools for Public Service" in the area of public interest law. Toledo Law has a rich history of training students for successful careers in public interest law.

Brown Named Assistant Director of Development
Brandy Brown '19 joined Toledo Law's fundraising team in March 2020, as assistant director of development. Brown is responsible for developing relationships with alumni and donors — engaging them in our mission through philanthropic giving.

Law Review Names First Black Editor-in-Chief
Damon Williams was named editor-in-chief of The University of Toledo Law Review, effective 2020-21. The college began work on its first publication 52 years ago in 1968. Williams makes college history as the first Black student to hold this prestigious position.

Launch into Law Creates Pathway to J.D.
The college hosted its second annual Launch into Law program in January 2019, to increase the number of traditionally underserved students enrolled in law school. Outcomes included an average 7 point increase in LSAT practice test scores.

Toledo Law Named a Best Law School
Toledo Law was selected as one of the nation's best law schools, according to The Princeton Review. The college was rated No. 1 in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana for most accessible professors and ranked No. 5 nationally for the greatest resources for women.

Simulated Congressional Hearings
Students from Ayersville High School in Defiance, Ohio, participated in simulated congressional hearings during a visit to the college last December 2019. The students were from the "We the People" program led by high school teacher Courtney Reiner.

Toledo Law Announces New 3+3 Partnership with Marietta College
Toledo Law announced a 3+3 program partnership to offer Marietta College students a faster path to complete their law degree. Toledo Law was one of the first law schools in Ohio to offer a 3+3 program.

Fornoff Competition Finalists Address Issues of First Amendment and Student Speech
Finalists Nicole Cote, Samuel Gold, Dana Pasiwk, and Ruth Willer, competed in the annual Charles W. Fornoff Appellate Advocacy Competition in October 2019. Best Team award went to Cote and Gold; Best Oralist to Pasiwk.

Toledo Law Launches Professional Development Program
The Office of Professional Development launched the Professional Development Program (PDP) in fall 2019. In its first year, 97% of entering 1L students completed all required PDP activities.

Toledo Law Graduates Have Strongest Showing in Ohio Bar Exams in 10 Years
The first-time passage rate for Toledo Law graduates taking the July Ohio bar exam was 89%, up from 84% in July 2018. The state average in Ohio was 82%. It was our highest result for first-time takers in a decade.

Latest LIGL Report Examines State Progress in Implementing Great Lakes Compact
Our Legal Institute of the Great Lakes released a report on state progress implementing the interstate compact. Prof. Ken Kilbert was the principal author. Toledo Law students, Forrest Miller and Aubrey Merkle, were co-authors.
