Toledo Law Graduates Post High Passage Rates on July Ohio Bar Exam

by Diana Case | Oct. 29, 2018

Toledo Law congratulates our recent graduates for outstanding results on the July 2018 Ohio bar exam.

The Ohio bar exam results were released on Friday, October 26, 2018. Toledo Law graduates had an 84 percent first-time pass rate. This figure was well above the state average of 79 percent and ahead of most Ohio law schools.

While we continue to see improvement year after year, Toledo Law is committed to preparing students for a successful career with programming and partnerships dedicated to bar passage. In the last few years, Toledo Law aligned our curriculum to bar-tested subjects, developed a new first-year support program, expanded our third-year bar prep course, and implemented a legal analysis course and academic success contracts. We also created the position of director of academic success and bar preparation, presently held by Professor Lesa Byrnes. This position oversees the Bar Passage program that is designed to prepare both third-year students and graduates for the bar exam. Through post-graduation mentoring, every Toledo Law graduate is paired with a faculty mentor to provide support during bar exam study. Graduates can discuss their bar preparation coursework, ask subject matter questions, or share any concerns they may have about the exam. Most recently, Toledo Law partnered with BARBRI to offer student access to their comprehensive bar review course with flexible classroom, online, and mobile learning environments.

Please join us in celebrating our graduates' success, as they continue on their path to practice law.
