Practice Based Learning
Residents must be able to investigate and evaluate their patient care practices, appraise
and assimilate scientific evidence, and improve their
patient care practices.
Identify a problem, study (literature), discuss and suggest plan for improvement,
allow time and collect the data.

The Mentorship Groups are made up of one faculty and four or five residents. The
Mentorship Groups are to advise residents in the areas of educational goal-setting,
career planning, patient care, and scholarship. They are to

3) Scholarly Activities
An opportunity for residents/fellows and faculty to participate in research, as well
as
organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences. In addition,
some members of the faculty should also demonstrate
scholarship through one or more of the following: peer-reviewed funding; publication
of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed
journals or chapters in textbooks; publication or presentation of case reports or
clinical series at local, regional, or national professional
and scientific society meetings; or participation in national committees or educational
organizations. (See Common Program Requirements).
