Applications are invited for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Neurosciences at the University of Toledo College Of Medicine (UTCOM). We seek an outstanding researcher using molecular, cellular, or systems approaches to address fundamental questions relevant to the nervous system. The position provides competitive salary and benefits, start-up funds, and research space. A Ph.D. and/or M.D./D.O. degree, substantial postdoctoral research accomplishments, and excellent communication skills are required. The successful candidate must have and maintain an extramurally funded research program. The position also entails training graduate students and contributing to the department’s teaching mission in graduate studies and the medical curriculum. Current research interests in the department include synaptic physiology, neural development, plasticity of adult human cortex, neurotoxicity and drug abuse, intracellular signaling and trafficking, and neurodegeneration, as well as medical education. Joint appointments are available in relevant clinical departments for candidates involved in translational research.
