General Psychiatry Residency Application Requirements

Requirements
  • □ Completed ERAS application
  • □ Personal statement
  • □ 3 Letters of recommendation, written by U.S. physicians and dated within the past 12 months
  • □ Official medical school transcript (with registrar’s signature and seal)
  • □ Dean’s letter of MSPE (Medical School Performance Evaluation), if applicable
  • □ No H-1B visa sponsorships
Score Requirements
  • USMLE Step 1: Preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt and with Step 1 scores of 200 or greater
  • USMLE Step 2 CK: Preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt and with Step 2 CK scores of 225 or greater
  • USMLE Step 2 CS: Preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt; this is waived due to the pandemic
  • USMLE Step 3: If applicable, preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt

  • COMLEX Level 1: Preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt and with Level 1 scores of 425 or greater
  • COMLEX Level 2 CE: Preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt and with Level 2 CE scores of 425 or greater; this is waived due to the pandemic
  • COMLEX Level 2 PE: Preference is given to candidates who pass on the first attempt

Interviews

Interviews will occur virtually, via the Thalamus platform. The evening before the interview day, candidates are invited to a virtual evening event with residents from the program.

On the interview day, you will meet with various faculty during the interview morning, and have a virtual tour of the facilities, which will mark the conclusion of the interview day.

Positions Available Yearly

  • 4 categorical general program positions
  • 1 categorical general program child track position
  • 1 child & adolescent fellowship position, not on ERAS due to being filled on a rolling basis by the child track position

Completed Applications must be received in ERAS no later than November 30.
