The Office of the Provost and the Teaching Center Advisory Council appointed Dr. Jeanne Kusina Interim Director of the University Teaching Center in November 2021.  As the Interim Director, Dr. Kusina will provide leadership for the University Teaching Center and work in partnership with the Teaching Center Advisory Council to develop professional faculty development opportunities in support of teaching excellence and serve as an advocate and ally in promoting the values of equity and excellence in teaching across all disciplines at the University of Toledo.

Dr. Kusina, Ph.D., M.B.A., is a Distinguished University Lecturer in Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Toledo. Dr. Kusina earned a doctorate degree in Applied Philosophy from Bowling Green State University.  Her research interests center primarily around ethics, social justice issues, the biomedical humanities, and identity representation in art, film, and media.  She teaches a variety of courses on gender and sexuality. Dr. Kusina previously served as Co-chair of the University Teaching Center Advisory Council, a working group that focuses on advancing excellence and equity in teaching and learning.
