What is the Rocket Card (ID)?
The Rocket Card is your official University of Toledo identification card. You will
use it all over campus to identify yourself as a member of the University community.
The Rocket Card has many uses, from building access to meal plan purchases!
Who needs a Rocket Card (ID)?
UToledo students, faculty, staff and affiliates are required to have a Rocket Card.
How do I order my student Rocket Card (ID)?
If you are a new student, you should order and pick-up your Rocket Card during Rocket
Launch, the new student orientation. If you did not receive your Rocket Card, please
follow the steps below:
- Log into your MyUT
- Click Request New/Replacement Rocket Card, which you will find under My Other Resources
- Review personal information
- Select Rocket Card (ID) pick-up location
- Upload your photo
- Click Submit
The Rocket Card Office will send a confirmation email to your UToledo account when your request has been successfully submitted. They will send an email to the same account when your ID is ready for pick-up.
Where do I pick up my Rocket Card?
When you order your Rocket Card (ID) you will be given the choice of two pick-up locations:
- Main Campus: Student Union room 1560
- Health Science Campus: Nursing Administration, 2nd Floor ML Annex, room 245
In order to pick-up your Rocket Card (ID) you will need a valid picture ID.
Can I use my preferred first name on my Rocket Card?
Absolutely, if you decide to update your card to display your preferred first name, you can change it by following these steps:
- Log in to the myUT portal at myut.utoledo.edu
- Click on the Student tab
- Under MY TOOLKIT, in the My Other Resources section, click Update Preferred First Name
- Your default preferred first name is your legal first name. Enter your preferred first name in the box and click the Update button
- You may reset your preferred first name to your legal first name by clicking the Reset My Preferred First Name button
Once saved, your preferred first name will sync to various systems (this can take up to 24 hours).
Where can I find my card number? (To be used for Barnes and Noble online orders)
- Visit myut.utoledo.edu
- In the top right corner click Account Maintenance
- Click the light blue box that says Login to Manage Your Services and log in with your UTAD credentials
- On the top yellow menu bar click Your Account (Full)
- You campus card number will be listed under Personal Information
Understanding the Funds that can be found on my Rocket Card
- Dining Dollars: Dining Dollars are a component of student meal plans that are loaded onto the Rocket Card. They are used for purchases at any of the Main Campus retail locations, dining halls or convenience stores as well as Phoenicia Mediterranean Cuisine.
- Dining Dollars+: Dining Dollars+ can be loaded onto the Rocket Card and are used for purchases in exchange for carrying cash. Dining Dollars+ are valid at all main campus dining locations excluding Phoenicia and 4 Seasons Bistro (at HSC). To add Dining Dollars+ to your Rocket Card today, visit dineoncampus.com/utoledo/dining-dollars--purchase.
- Dining Dollars+ Bonus: Dining Dollars+ Bonus is a gift from Rocket Dining (amount subject to vary, typically 10%) when you load $100 or more in one transaction. These funds are valid at the same venues as Dining Dollars+ and are used for purchases after the Dining Dollars+ funds have been depleted.
- Phoenicia Dollars: Phoenicia Dollars are only valid at Phoenicia Cuisine, which is located on the 4th Floor of the Student Union. To add Phoenicia Dollars to your Rocket Card today, visit rocketcardplus.utoledo.edu.
How do I check my balances/usage?
To check your balances and/or usage, follow the process below:
- Visit rocketcardplus.utoledo.edu
- Enter your UTAD login and password
- On the gray bar, click on one of these three options: Account Transactions, Board Transactions or Account Statements
- Enter the date range
- Click Search
Rocket Card Issues
What if my Rocket Card is lost?
If you lose your Rocket Card (ID) you should freeze your card immediately to protect
your account by following the process below:
- Visit rocketcardplus.utoledo.edu
- Enter your UTAD login and password
- Once logged in, click on Card Service
- Click Freeze Card
Once the steps above are completed, you will receive an email confirmation in your UToledo email. If your lost card is not recovered, you will need to order a new card, which is subject to a replacement fee. Lost cards that are turned into the ID Office are kept on file for one month, as long as the person is still an active student or faculty/staff member. Please check with the ID Office to see if your lost card has been found. You may also call the Main Campus lost and found at 419.530.2601.
What if my Rocket Card is worn or torn?
If your Rocket Card snaps, splits, breaks, or if your image and/or name become unrecognizable,
please visit the Rocket Card Office located in the Student Union room 1560, to have
our ID staff review your replacement options. Office hours are M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm.
If you work on the Health Science Campus, please send an email to rocketcard@utoledo.edu explaining the situation and include an image of the front and back of your Rocket Card. Our ID staff will review your replacement options with you via email.
What if my Rocket Card no longer swipes?
If you are experiencing issues with your Rocket Card, please visit the Rocket Card
Office located in the Student Union room 1560, to have our ID staff troubleshoot your
ID. The office hours are M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm. Be sure to keep your Rocket Card away
from magnetic fields, as they may damage the encoding on the card. Do not bend, scratch,
or punch holes in the card.
What if my Rocket Card displays incorrect information?
Employees and Affiliates that have a title and/or department change will need to request a new Rocket Card. In order for this replacement to be of no cost, the previous Rocket Card must be surrendered when the updated Rocket Card is picked up.

- Enter your UTAD credentials and follow site instructions
Please note: replacement cards may be subject to a fee. Acceptable forms of payment include cash and checks made payable to The University of Toledo at the time of pick up, no credit cards will be accepted. Rocket IDs will remain available for pick-up for a maximum of 6 months.
